In 2021 the most bizarre and wonderful thing happened to me. I had a bunch of songs come into my head randomly and it just so worked out that they were all by members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. (Yes, I said it was bizarre!)
It started with the legendary Prince and my own dad. Let me explain:
When Prince died on April 21st, 2016 it was a shock. The whole world felt it. But I felt it slightly different. You see a couple of months prior, I actually got a message from spirit that something was going to happen. I asked if it was a plane crash or related to a plane somehow but they said no. (Prince was on a flight on April 15 that had to make an unscheduled, emergency stop and reported an 'unresponsive male' on board. He reportedly almost died from a Percocet overdose) I dismissed it and forgot about it until it actually happened. I was in shock. His death hit me. More than I thought it should have. I didn't know him after all. But he'd been in my world since I was a kid. That Purple Rain album spoke to my soul even as a ten year old!
Anyway a few days after he passed, I was just minding my own business at home, and I felt him in the air. It was strange, but I knew in that moment that he had become omnipresent. From that moment he has been with me, guiding me.
And then he bought a few friends 😎
On October 2nd 2020, my father passed away and I knew of course he would be with me and that I could count on his guidance from the other side. But when I first woke up with the beat to a song in my head, I was a little confused why? I followed the tune and finally identified the song as 'Reach Out I'll Be There'.
Why would I have such a random, old song though and where did it come from? Sung by the Legendary group The Four Tops and released in 1967, why did I wake up with it in my head?
Then I read the lyrics and everything came clear. Take a look:
Now if you feel that you can't go on [(can't go on)]
Because all of your hope is gone [(all your hope is gone)]
And your life is filled with much confusion [(much confusion)]
Until happiness is just an illusion [(happiness is just an illusion)]
And your world around is crumbling down, darlin'
[(Reach out)] Come on girl reach on out for me
[(Reach out)] Reach out for me
Hah, I'll be there with a love that will shelter you
I'll be there with a love that will see you through
As strange as it sounds, I knew right away that it was a message from my dad. Letting me know he knew what I was going through because I'm here to tell you, that's pretty much how I was feeling most days. You can see the full lyrics here.
From there the Legends' songs just kept rolling through my thoughts, each one I would identify the song and artist. First the men, then the women. It was by the time I got to the women, I knew they were all part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. OMG!
All these Legends were pioneers and early influences of their generation and those to come. Their music and legacy still inspire artists today. Oh, but it doesn't stop there! Other artists outside of the original 12 have made themselves known too. From John Bonham (Led Zeplin), Jam Master Jay (Run DMC), Bob Marley, George Harrison up to the more recent Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters) are just a few more that have joined the team. They all have a message that they want to continue sharing with the world.
But wait, there's more! Then came the actors!
Similar to the songs coming into my head, I had movie lines come in. After a few, I realized we were on another journey of identifying 12 more Legends, this time I found they were all part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
I am so happy to be involved in this weird and wonderful
experience with all these amazing Legends of Rock and Film.
They have so much to share with the world, so much wisdom to come through. We
now have a dedicated YouTube Channel where I give them a voice once
again. I am truly honored to be representing them all in the most pure and
integrous way I can.
